Books... good books I've read. Been getting into academic papers lately too
I read the tenant of wildfell hall. Good for the lady. Currently deciding whether to read dracula or frankenstein next.
I haven't read anything in a long time and I feel my brain is rotting and for some reason I think reading books will help
I might make a separate page for a blog or something I don't know
I'm finally watching G-Witch !!! It's so good
I'm not gonna say space utena -_-
"ˢᵖᵃᶜᵉ ᵘᵗᵉⁿᵃ"
...WHAAAAAAAAAT? YOU HEARD NOTHING
At first I didn't see the hype because I thought the art style was ugly (the pointy chins scared me) but I figured I might as well watch. I think I had put it off for a while.
Utena coming to Anthy as an equal was pure romance. I hate lovey dovey stuff but their relationship was refreshing. Utena becoming the vehicle through which Anthy saves herself was beautiful.
"At last we meet"
I thought this was succinct...
I don't even do humanities and couldn't write an essay to save my life.
More utena rambles:
This show helped me realise how dumb everything is. Whyyyyyyyyyy do we need to do all these things. Whyyyyyyyy do things need to be 'men' things and 'woman' things. The concepts of 'man' and 'woman' should cease to exist.
It was cool seeing Utena's gradual 'acceptance' of a more feminine and gender conforming role induce horror and confusion. After all, isn't a girl becoming this way meant to be a good thing since hey being 'like other girls' is great! And eventually all girls need to grow into a 'real' woman! It's the 'natural' order! But in the end it's just the horror of watching Utena being groomed and seeing it for what's actually happening.
Haha. Lol.
RAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH
Suletta making decisions on her own which is all Miorine wanted in the first place (after she herself realised despite the dueling/bride system she still loved Suletta on her own) was so jaw-dropping, spectacular, brilliant, inspired, MARVELOUS. Despite the cages they are in, all they are ever doing is trying to reach each other. In the end, they trust each other completely. Suletta gives Miorine the confidence to open the door herself and Miorine endures seeing Suletta's pain while raising the permet score. She glares at Guel for implying that Suletta couldn't do something on her own and the shitty shit slaps himself for it. Good. GODDDDDD they love each other so much. I do not like romance.
I love how Suletta, Miorine, Prospera and Eri all got a happy ending. In anything else Prospera would have killed herself/been killed after realising all the messed up things she did but here instead, she lived and [REDACTED]. Good for her.
This show was so good and it's nothing without sulemio. Yeah I have some criticisms but that's for another day.
I heard if you like RGU then you'd like Princess Tutu which is entirely correct.
The show was great and "May those who accept their fate be granted happiness. May those who defy their fate be granted glory" is probably the kindest thing you could say to someone. Each character got their 'happy ending', from a story they each chose to write for themselves.
I knew Fakir and Duck would end up together but given my first impressions of him I was thinking, how...? Never thought I would be faced with the greatest straight romance I'd ever seen (the only one really). They even had a dance scene like Utena !!!
I really need to rewatch...
I got into jojo at around 15-16 and binged it all. Scrolling through pinterest I found a character with a cool design (it was hot pants). Someone said she was from jojo part 7. In my head I was thinking 'but there's only 5 jojo parts'. And then I learnt what manga was.
It took me a week to read stone ocean and I remember being sick to my stomach when I finished. I had to sit and think whilst simultaneously trying not to barf. It was amazing. My favourite jojo part and favourite jojo. This one's the part that's most 'bizarre' too. It felt like the plot was just punching me in the gut with every new stand user.
I watched stone ocean last year, the first part anyway. Idk why I haven't watched the second part yet but I'll get round it. I like the watery, rainy atmosphere of it. Like things being washed away. Jolyne, Ermes and F.F. were so great as a dynamic. I wish Ermes was in it more though.
It's funny how I'm older than Jolyne now. I wish she wasn't just thought of as the 'girl' jojo. But you can blame the mangaka since he only made one of them. And 'girl' being the only trait girls are allowed to have.
Overall, with jojo I don't consider it to be gay. The relationships between the characters don't really seem like it to me. They dress and act campy and colourful but that's it.
"Break my heart, break your heart"
I recently reread it at the start of July. I felt the same empty feeling in the pit of my stomach just like I did when I first read it. Johnny's character growth was amazing. He learnt how to be the protagonist of his own story! It was so sad how he just wanted everyone back at the end. It was even sadder when it ended with him being able to walk again -_- that was lazy and unnecessary. It's not like in real life disabled people can just get up and walk when they have some personal development.
It's crazy how a major plot point was Gyro realising how much he cares for Johnny. It was funny how Gyro was repeatedly like 'fuck you johnny i don't care what you do i'm going' only to come back again lmao. Gyro's a shithead. I hate how it was only Johnny who treated Lucy with any kindness and respect. I hated all the plot points to do with Lucy actually. Araki doesn't know how to treat his young girl cast. Johnny's trauma was written so beautifully but what did Lucy get? Female characters never get to be able to be anything other than 'happy' or 'strong' when they go through distressing events. Even if they're just a kid.
I'm happy. That tiny dragon's a forever part of her soul now.
